Toolkit Development

As projects progress and information is gained, it is often appropriate to develop a toolkit of information to share what's been learned. Toolkits, typically in the form of a three-ring binder, are an efficient way to distribute information and may be kept as reference long after the project is complete. For instance, the toolkit developed as part of a Hazardous Materials Outreach project in 2006 was distributed statewide to Regional Collection Centers and landfill associations. Chapter titles include Understanding your Agency & Partners, Hiring a Temporary Outreach Coordinator, Using Farm*A*Syst as an Outreach Tool, and Working with the Media. The toolkit contains reproducible documents and publications that were created during the project, and provides a detailed synopsis of work completed in three pilot counties. We plan to develop a comprehensive toolkit at the end of the three-year absentee landowner project.
